About Us

Our Story

The journey of Janvikas Samajik Sanstha is inseparable from the vision of its Founder and Secretary, Mr. Ramesh Bhise, whose life has been devoted to justice and dignity for the marginalized. Witnessing the harsh realities of child labor, poverty, and social exclusion in his youth, Mr. Bhise chose service over personal ambition. In the early 1990s, he worked alongside veteran social leaders, mobilizing rural communities during devastating droughts in Marathwada. His grassroots campaigns created awareness, employment, and hope for thousands of families. In 1995, Janvikas was born with a mission to foster holistic development—social, economic, and educational—through participatory and rights-based approaches. Over the past three decades, the organization has touched countless lives across rural Maharashtra.

Education for All has been a cornerstone of Janvikas. From establishing Balwadis for nomadic tribes to ensuring access to residential schools for children of migrant laborers, the organization has championed the Right to Education and opened doors of opportunity for thousands.Believing that women are the agents of change, Janvikas has nurtured self-help groups, livelihood ventures, and financial inclusion programs, enabling women to claim their rightful place in society.Through sustainable agriculture and watershed development, Janvikas has rejuvenated land, conserved water, and trained farmers in climate-resilient practices. Its advocacy for land rights has secured ownership for Dalit and landless families, transforming their futures.
