Health as a Right, Not a Privilege

Ensuring equitable access to healthcare for women, children, and persons with disabilities in India’s most underserved rural landscapes.

In underserved rural regions, healthcare challenges are deeply linked with poverty, migration, lack of awareness, and inadequate infrastructure. Women, migrant families, and persons with disabilities are often the most affected, facing barriers to both preventive and curativecare. JVSS addresses these gaps through a combination of advocacy, direct support, and community-based interventions.

The rural healthcare landscape is defined by systemic barriers.

In the remote regions where JVSS Health operates, the path to healing is often blocked by extreme poverty, seasonal migration, and a profound lack of medical awareness. Families are forced to choose between a day’s wages and a trip to the nearest clinic, often miles away.

Our work focuses on dismantling these barriers, transforming “access” from a distant ideal into a tangible reality for every individual, regardless of their location or social standing.

Geographic Isolation

Communities living in terrain inaccessible by modern transport.

Economic Fragility

High out-of-pocket expenses that lead to cycle of debt.

Ending the Hysterectomy Crisis

In many rural labor markets, women are pressured into unnecessary hysterectomies to avoid “lost labor days.” JVSS intervenes with medical guidance and rights-based awareness to stop this violation of bodily autonomy.

Medical Guidance

Connecting women with ethical medical professionals for second opinions.

Policy Impact .

Collaborating with state health departments to regulate private clinics
