Education for All

Providing quality education and learning support to school drop-out children for a brighter and self-reliant future.

Ensuring Every Child Has the Opportunity to Learn

Education is the foundation of a better future. Yet for thousands of children from tribal communities, migrant families, and other marginalized groups, access to quality education remains a challenge. Poverty, seasonal migration, inadequate school infrastructure, and lack of educational resources often force children to discontinue their studies, limiting their opportunities for a brighter future.

At Janvikas Samajik Sanstha (JVSS), we work to ensure that every child has access to safe, inclusive, and quality education. Our interventions address the barriers that prevent children from attending school while strengthening educational institutions to create better learning environments. From enrolling out-of-school children and supporting temporary hostels to improving school infrastructure, digital education, and inclusive learning, we are committed to building an education system where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

Across Maharashtra, our education initiatives have transformed schools, empowered communities, and enabled thousands of children to continue their educational journey with dignity and confidence.

What We Do

Bringing Every Child Back to School

Every year, thousands of families migrate from districts such as Beed for seasonal sugarcane harvesting. Children often accompany their parents, causing long interruptions in their education and increasing the risk of permanent school dropout. JVSS works closely with communities, parents, schools, and local authorities to identify out-of-school children, raise awareness about the Right to Education, and ensure their enrolment in formal schools. We also support the effective functioning of government temporary hostels, enabling children of migrant labourers to remain in their villages and continue their education without disruption. Our efforts have significantly reduced school dropouts while improving regular attendance among vulnerable children.

Strengthening School Infrastructure

A quality education requires a safe, welcoming, and well-equipped learning environment. We support schools by improving physical infrastructure that enhances both learning and student well-being. Our interventions include classroom renovation, painting, flooring, furniture, sanitation facilities, libraries, residential school improvements, and essential equipment based on each school's needs. Where required, we also provide practical infrastructure support such as chapati-making machines, kitchen improvements, and other facilities that improve the daily functioning of residential schools and hostels. These improvements create learning environments where children can study safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Advancing Digital Education

Digital literacy has become an essential part of modern education, yet many rural and tribal schools lack access to technology. JVSS establishes digital learning facilities by setting up computer laboratories equipped with computers, furniture, internet connectivity, electrification, and interactive learning tools. We also support schools with smart classrooms and interactive panels that make teaching more engaging and effective. By introducing digital education, students gain valuable technological skills that prepare them for higher education, employment, and an increasingly digital world.

Promoting Inclusive Education

Sustainable educational improvement requires active community participation. JVSS strengthens School Management Committees (SMCs), Village Child Protection Committees (VCPCs), Bal Panchayats, parents, teachers, and local institutions through awareness programmes and capacity-building initiatives. We actively promote the Right to Education (RTE), encourage community ownership of schools, and support school development planning that leads to long-term educational improvement. By empowering communities, we create stronger education systems that continue to benefit future generations

Water, Sanitation & Student Well-being

Safe drinking water and proper sanitation are essential for healthy learning environments. Many schools, particularly residential schools in tribal regions, face serious challenges related to water availability and sanitation. JVSS addresses these challenges by installing borewells, water storage tanks, pipelines, drinking water systems, water coolers, filtration units, and sanitation facilities. These interventions improve hygiene, reduce health risks, and create healthier environments where students can focus on their education without basic infrastructure challenges.

Supporting Students Beyond Classroom

Many children discontinue their education because they lack basic necessities rather than motivation. To reduce these barriers, JVSS provides bicycles for students travelling long distances to school, raincoats during monsoon seasons, school bags, water bottles, educational materials, and other essential learning resources. Where needed, we also support schools by facilitating teacher salaries during periods of financial constraints, ensuring that children's education continues without interruption. These interventions enable children to remain in school and participate actively in their learning.
